Join us during Open Education Week for the UTS Learning Design Meetup. We will explore how we can leverage Open Educational Resources (OERs) to integrate sustainability concepts into your learning and teaching. Discover a range of tools developed at UTS that will help you incorporate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and related concepts across various disciplines. Learn about the user-friendly platforms hosting these resources and gain insights into using the introductory materials with minimal effort in your teaching or on Canvas.
As a university committed to fostering positive change, UTS actively pursues embedding sustainability into curriculum to promote social justice and a thriving world. In this session, you’ll be introduced to the cross-departmental team of academics, sustainability experts, digital content creators and learning designers who are collaborating to achieve the university’s goals outlined in its Sustainability Strategy 2023-2027 with initiatives like the OERs.
Come and participate in this event to explore the tools and connect with fellow educators who share your passion for finding innovative ways to equip students with the necessary skills for our future.
Everyone from across the international education community is welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!
Presenter bio:
Hello, I’m Christina (MEd, Grad Cert LD). My professional journey has been a continuous metamorphosis, spanning diverse industries and contexts. For the last 15 years, I’ve dedicated myself to the field of education and am currently working at UTS as a learning designer. My primary focus is discovering ways to create vibrant, transformative learning experiences guided by collaborative research-based practices. Motivated by my love for this planet, I advocate for making sustainability more mainstream and weaving it into tertiary education. I collaborate with various stakeholders at the university to contribute to this endeavour and create Open Educational Resources (OERs), aspiring towards a kinder, more just, and sustainable future.
