2020 has seen a rapid transition to remote learning and a big challenge has been the translation of practical classes to an online environment. Please join us as two innovative panellists share their approaches Scott Chadwick will be discussing the implementation of online practicals for the Bachelor of Forensic Science and Sheila Donnelly will share her experience of developing an online version of the practical element of Biotechnology, with the aim of replicating the primary learning outcomes of face-to-face classes.

Panellists

Sheila Donnelly is an academic researcher in the School of Life Sciences and is the subject co-ordinator for the second year science subject; Biotechnology,  this subject feeds into a number of the science degrees – it is core for the Bachelor of Biotechnology, but many other science students take it as an elective.

Scott Chadwick is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and the Course Director for the Bachelor of Forensic Science. Scott is very interested in the development of the innovative practices in learning and teaching and how to better train and educate future scientists
