Overview
At UTS in 2021 close to 500 video-based assessments were designed and embedded into the curriculum. Student-generated video presents an opportunity for students to actively engage in authentic assessment tasks. An awareness of effective approaches to using video in assessment tasks can help you develop the best student outcomes.

Beginner to Intermediate
Who should attend this session?
All teaching staff who are going to use video assessments in their subjects or have a plan to enhance video assessment design.
Professional staff are welcome to attend.
What will you learn?
In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to video assessment design and development in Canvas. At the end of the session you will be able to:
- Design and build a video assessment in your Canvas subject site
- Provide students with appropriate assessment scaffolding
- Develop video assessment criteria and rubrics.
