Learn how Subject Coordinators create assessment tasks in REVIEW.
To create a new Task, open the ‘Task’ Tab and select ‘+ New Task’
Task Name – enter the name of the Task as shown in the Subject Outline
Weight – enter the amount that the Task contributes to the total mark for the subject as a percentage (e.g. 30%)
Task Criterion – choose the method used to weight Task criteria from:
Slider – choose the Slider to use when grading the task; sliders display grades either:
Status – make a task ACTIVE when it’s ready to be marked; INACTIVE tasks may be edited but are not visible to staff or students even when marking has commenced or marks have been published
Sync with LMS – enable this setting to transfer Task marks to Canvas when Publishing marks and feedback to students
Show mark to student – enable this setting to display numeric marks to students.
Marks will only be displayed to students when the selected slider displays marks proportionally – i.e. the box displaying the Fail grade takes up exactly half of the available space on the Slider.
Show average mark – enable this setting to display the average mark indicator on the marking slider to staff (on the marking screen) and students (in results). Average task marks can still be accessed by Staff via the Reports tab.
Hide from student – enable this setting to make the task invisible to students. You can enable or disable this setting at any time, even when results have been Published.
Enable the Hide from Student setting when creating a final assessment task whose results cannot be Published until after subject results have been released.
Self-assess by student – enable this setting to allow students to grade their own work using the same criteria as teaching staff.
Please seek advice from LX.lab staff before any Task setting not listed above.
