Qwickly Attendance is a tool that allows instructors to take attendance using either a roll call style list or by requiring student to mark their own attendance through a ‘self check-in’. This guide shows you how to view, edit, export and manage your attendance records.
The Records page displays a table of all the attendance records that have been submitted for the course. If the course also uses Course Sections/tutorials/labs student grouping, there will be tabs above the table so instructors can access a table that lists all students and also the tables for each group/section.
Navigate to your subject site in Canvas
Select ‘Qwickly Attendance’ on the left-hand subject navigation bar.
Select ‘Records’ from the left-side menu to navigate to ‘Attendance Record’ page, which gives you a detailed overview of all your students’ attendance records for that course.
The ‘All students’ tab gives the attendance record of all students.
Clicking on the different tabs (on the top) will allow you to access lists for different tutorial/labs groups.
To search for a particular student’s attendance record, use the ‘Search students’ function.
Edit Attendance records
Navigate to your subject site in Canvas
Select ‘Qwickly Attendance’ on the left-hand subject navigation bar.
Select ‘Records’ from the left-side menu to navigate to ‘Attendance Record’ page.
Use the arrows to browse through the attendance records for different sessions.
Use the ‘Search students’ filter to view the attendance record for a particular student.
Click on an attendance record box under a particular session for a student to view or change the attendance record.
You can also view or add a comment that is visible or not visible to the student.
7. Click on the heading box for a particular session to change the title, date, or time of that session.
Export attendance records
Navigate to your subject site in Canvas.
Select ‘Qwickly Attendance’ on the left-hand subject navigation bar.
Select ‘Records’ from the left-side menu to navigate to ‘Attendance Record’ page.
Select the tab for ‘All Students’ or group of students you want the attendance record for or use the search bar if you want to export the attendance record for a particular student.
Select the ‘Export’ icon. This will open a dialogue box, ‘Record Export’, which enables you to select the desired data to download.
A .CSV file containing the attendance record will be download to your device.
Check against Zoom records
You may find that you need to investigate a potential fraudulent self check-in or confirm attendance before finalising results. One way to check if your students were present in the class and to verify your Qwickly attendance you could:
Compare the downloaded Qwickly .CSV file with that of the downloaded .CSV file of attendance of your zoom session. (Run an attendance report in Zoom)
Look at the attendance record for that session online in Qwickly and compare that with your downloaded zoom session report.
