Learn about sustainability with student facilitators at the LX.lab - LX at UTS

Beginning this September, the LX.lab will partner with UTS students and sustainability staff to explore sustainability, climate change and what we can do as individuals to respond to the climate crisis. Check out our calendar of events happening from September to November to register for a number of exciting opportunities to work alongside students and learn more about the different ways you can embed sustainability in your teaching practice.

9 September – Sustainable Development Goals at UTS

Before jumping into our student-facilitated workshops, get an overview of how UTS is ranking with the Sustainable Development Goals created by the UN. Alexandra Fransen (UTS Sustainable Development Goals Project Manager) will discuss where our efforts are best focused, and practical steps we can take, as well as how to connect the SDGs with teaching practice. Register here for the Sustainable Development Goals workshop.

16 September – Students talk sustainability: Climate fresk

Join us to learn about the climate in a playful way with the climate fresk. Led by student facilitators from the UTS Sustainability Alliance of Students And Staff (SASS) and the Fashion Ethics and Sustainability Society (FESS), this workshop will help you to raise awareness of key issues in the climate crisis and understand how to act effectively.

13 October – Students talk sustainability: Climate action and industry

On 13 October, take a closer look at how climate action is articulated in industry with student facilitators from UTS Business School. In this workshop, you’ll engage in a collaborative co-design process to explore connections between sustainability and graduate careers, as well as tangible actions on an individual and collective level to mitigate climate change.

11 November – Students talk sustainability: Practical subject materials

In our final workshop with student facilitators, we’ll explore how UTS subjects can respond to climate change and sustainability needs. Work with students to co-design strategies for teaching about the climate crisis and sustainability, and check out the reusable subject materials developed by PGLD in collaboration with students.

Places in the student-led workshops are limited, so make sure to get in and register your attendance. We look forward to seeing you there!
