Introducing our new team of Academics in Residence (AiR) - LX at UTS

Meet our new Academics in Residence, Jochen SchweitzerMaya MarcusMartin Bliemel and Julien Marchand! Read on to learn more about the Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Honours degree project.

It was an exciting moment for the LX.lab to launch the next instalment of our Academic in Residence (AiR) program, which will be focused on developing an Honours degree for the Bachelor of Entrepreneurship. The AiR project presents a unique opportunity that brings together the LX.lab team and academics from across the university, combining the expertise of many individuals.

Launching the new AiR project

Those in attendance were introduced to the new team by IML director Jo McKenzie, before hearing some of the goals and objectives of the new project from AiR Jochen Schweitzer. The AiR team will be reimagining what an Honours experience can look like, tapping into several trajectories in educational development – from the rise of micro-credentialing, to blended instead of classroom teaching, to shareable and versatile content in Canvas. The outcomes of the AiR project will also inform another new initiative, the LX Transformation project.

Jochen shared some of the planned output of the project, including the production of 25 modules on entrepreneurial topic (which will be available for other faculties to use). The project will also involve designing assessments and structures to facilitate the standalone degree, which will include heavy use of ePortfolios. Finally, Jochen hopes that the project and its outputs will help contribute to the community of practice that is emerging in a growing priority area for UTS. To find out more about the Entrepreneurial Education Community of Practice, check out their blog post here.
