Are you a casual academic? Find out how the LX.lab can help you - LX at UTS

New to UTS?

Let the friendly team at the LX.lab (CB06.04.20) help you find your feet. We can point you to online resources for new staff, as well as guide you through some of the technology you’ll be using in your learning and teaching. If you’re feeling lost, come by during drop-in hours 11am-1pm weekdays or take a look at our workshops.

When the Lab is not being used for events, all staff (including those on casual contracts) are welcome to use the space for working or small meetings. Check the screens in the Lab for the schedule.

Join the online community

As well as our workshops, you can also join the conversation in the UTS learning and teaching community by subscribing to the Futures blog, or drop us a line at lx.lab@uts.edu.au and contribute a post.

Events

In addition to the regular lineup of LX.lab events, IML holds a number of events each year. There are workshops for casuals, a casual academics conference, as well as the Learning and Teaching Forum in November. There’s also the annual Learning and Teaching Showcase, which celebrates the important work academics around UTS are doing to create great learning experiences for their students. More details are on the UTS website.

Who to talk to

Your faculty contacts are your first port of call for any enquiries related to your classes. If you’re looking for advice or information about your working arrangements, you can talk to Human Resources. There are also liaisons within IML for each faculty. And of course, there are a number of ways to get in touch with the LX.lab. We look forward to hearing from you this coming session!
