Analysing your UTSOnline quiz results - LX at UTS
  • Thursday, 13 July 2017
    1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
  • learning.futures Academic Hub

Do you know what they don’t know? Analysing your UTSOnline quiz results might provide the answer.

UTSOnline tests (a.k.a. quizzes) can give staff a useful heads-up on how students are tracking in a subject. However raw marks and descriptive statistics are a poor guide to what students do and don’t understand. Running an Item Analysis can help you understand which test questions your students struggle with and, by extension, what topics or concepts need further discussion. In this workshop you’ll learn how to run an Item analysis on a UTSOnline test. We’ll also cover how to interrogate the Item analysis results so as to better understand which areas your students are struggling with. We’ll finish by discussing techniques you can use in and out of the classroom to improve and consolidate understanding.

Who should attend?

Anyone who runs tests/quizzes in UTSOnline on a regular or semi-regular basis. If you have run a quiz in the last semester please bring a laptop so you can run your own item analysis and discuss the results.

Note: the date of this workshop has changed to Thursday 13 July.
