Select the meeting you want to access and review the list of recording files.
Use Option A or Option B (available below) to download your files.
Open the downloaded transcript file on your computer that ends with ‘Recording.transcript.vtt’ (.vtt) using Microsoft Word or your desired word processing software.
Use the editing features in Word to format the transcript, such as adding punctuation, capitalising names, and organising text into paragraphs. If there were multiple speakers in the meeting, you can also label the speakers in the transcript using their names or other identifiers, such as ‘Speaker 1’, ‘Speaker 2’, or ‘Narrator’. Use your discretion to determine how much editing is necessary to make the transcript meaningful and useful for others who may need it.
Option A
Select the recording title and then select the download button.
Option B
Select the more options button on the right side of the title you want to download and select Download to get the meeting files. video, recording transcript, the closed captions and the chat messages of the meeting.
View and edit in the Zoom portal
Log in to the Zoom web portal.
In the navigation menu, select Recordings.
Select the meeting you want to access and review the list of recording files.
Select the play icon to initiate the video playback, and you will see the transcript text appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
Enable automatic Zoom transcription
If you aren’t able to edit the transcript on zoom, you might need to turn on transcription in your settings.
Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
In the navigation menu, select Settings.
Select the Recording tab.
Locate the Cloud recording setting and ensure that it’s enabled. Note: If the setting is disabled, select the toggle to enable it. If a verification dialog box appears, select Enable to verify the change.
In the Advanced cloud recording settings section, select the check box next to Create audio transcript to enable it, then select Save to confirm the change.
