The Summer 2022 Casual Academic Program will be held on 23 & 24 November to support UTS casual academics who have active Summer 2022 teaching contracts to build their capability and confidence in their teaching practice. This is a paid professional learning opportunity.
Available workshops
Eligible staff may register for up to two of the following 1.5 hour online workshops:
Wednesday, 23 November
- 12–1:30pm: Canvas essentials for new teaching staff
- 2–3:30pm: Classroom assessment techniques
Thursday, 24 November
- 10–11:30am: Marking in Canvas for tutors
- 12–1:30pm: Building student belonging in your classroom
Registrations for these workshops will be available on this Event page from 10am on Thursday 3 November, closing at 4pm on Thursday 17 November. As places are limited, we encourage interested and eligible staff to register early.
Who is eligible?
The Summer 2022 Casual Academic Program is open to UTS staff on active casual teaching contracts in Summer 2022. Paid places are at the Other Academic Activity non-PhD rate of $50.46ph (this is not a teaching activity). Contracts will be organised by IML. You do not need to contact your faculty.
Note that those in full-time or fractional employment at UTS in addition to their casual academic contract are not eligible for this workshop program.
