Hot Topic Theme: Feedback and Assessment
We warmly invite everyone to join us for this FFYE Forum launching the next TACT Hot Topic Series on Feedback and Assessment. Academics, professional staff and students are all welcome.
In this Forum, we will be looking at some of the big ideas emerging out of the research into feedback as learning, including designing feedback loops into teaching, assessment designs for feedback uptake, developing students’ feedback literacy, and student-generated feedback.
We will be hearing from a panel of four students from the Student Hub, who will share their perspectives on what makes good feedback and what they do with the feedback they receive.
We will build our domain knowledge of the current research in feedback and assessment, and you will be invited to share examples of your own practice, either in the academic or student support space.
Finally, Matt Padula and Yvonne Davilla (Science) will share the findings from their 2020 FFYE grant, Putting the ‘Pro’ into Proteomics: developing advanced critical, analytical and academic writing practices in the Master of Medical Biotechnology program.
Please come and connect, learn and share with each other.
Registrants will be added to the TACT Hot Topic Teams site, where you will be able to explore the Hot Topic Series’ to date, and access resources and materials.
Guest Speakers
Dr Matt Padula, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Science
Dr Yvonne Davilla, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Science
What are Hot Topics?
Hot Topics are curriculum and teaching themes that have emerged in UTS from student learning experiences, student feedback surveys (SFS), consultations and other strategic projects. They are a series of professional development and engagement opportunities to enhance courses and provide longer-term support through community building and sustained critical dialogues.
