UTS Avoiding Plagiarism: what's new in 2018 - LX at UTS

UTS Avoiding Plagiarism contains a number of helpful resources and can be used by both teachers and students as a standalone online resource to enhance students’ understanding of academic integrity and ethics, and overall academic literacy skills. in 2017 alone, the website was utilised by more than 15,000 people just over 22,000 times.

There are a number of short videos, including:

  • What is Academic Integrity: announcement from Joanne Gray (Chair of Academic Board)
  • What is plagiarism: General Information
  • Plagiarism and Consequences
  • How to avoid plagiarism: how to reference (in three parts)
  • Am I plagiarising? Some examples…

To watch these videos, select the ‘Generic’ module from the dropdown menu and navigate through the various links (make sure to click ‘Learn more’ underneath the videos). Any of these videos can be embedded in your discipline-specific module – just email to ask how!

UTSOnline integration

You can integrate the quiz section of the website so that the result can be sent to Grade Centre in UTSOnline subjects. The process is quite easy (please see the links below). I am happy to assist you if you have any questions.

Here are a couple of links that can help you build assessment tasks using the UTS Avoiding Plagiarism website.
