LISTEN: Mariana Zafeirakopoulos and Robert Stephenson talk Respect. Now. Always. - LX at UTS

In 2017, the Human Rights Commission published a report on the current issues surrounding sexual harassment and assault in Australian universities, with the outcomes of the report resulting in the establishment of the Respect. Now. Always. campaign. UTS has joined the nationwide campaign to continue to build and maintain a culture of respect on campus. UTS Senior Strategic Designer Mariana Zafeirakopoulos and Engineering PhD candidate Robert Stephenson recently joined ABC Radio National’s show Life Matters to talk about the initiatives happening at UTS as part of the campaign. You can listen to the interview on ABC Radio National.

Support for students and staff

UTS has resources and support available for students and staff dealing with sexual harassment and assault. UTS staff can also access the Employee Assistance Program for a variety of issues. Individuals outside of UTS can find more information about the Australia-wide campaign on Universities Australia. More information about the initiatives UTS is undertaking will be available in the coming months, so keep an eye out around campus for details.
